Description: Mixed-use development consisting of 1,265,000 s.f. of retail,
589,000 s.f. of office and 2,300 dwelling units.
Status: Approved by City Council on 7/24/07. Permit applications have
been submitted to the regulatory agencies on December 31, 2007 and are
being processed. Channel habitat mitigation and monitoring plan has been
completed and submitted to the regulatory agencies and are being reviewed.
Grand Avenue bridge is in the 30% design stage.

University Village Specific Plan
Location: See below.
Description: On January 8, 2008, the City Council established a Task Force
to re-evaluate the land uses within that portion of Heart of the City
generally bounded by SR-78, Industrial Street, Barham Drive, Discovery
Street (and its extension), and San Marcos Creek. The goal of the Task
Force is to formulate an amendment that looks at expanding the “downtown”
vision of the San Marcos Creek Specific Plan. First meeting of Task Force
was held on 3/12/08 with additional meetings on 4/2/08, 4/30/08 &
5/28/08. There was a field trip to San Diego on 5/3/08. Two public workshops
were held on Saturday, 5/17 and 5/31. Next Task Force meeting is 6/18/08.
