Woodland Senior Apartments and Retail Project Location: 975 Woodland Parkway Description: 204 senior apartments, 2,500 s.f. retail and 15,000 s.f. CVS Pharmacy Status: Senior apartment completed, retail completed but not fully occupied, CVS Pharmacy is open. Fitness club approved under a Use Permit. Palomar Station Location: South of Mission Rd., east of Las Posas Rd., north & south of Armorlite Dr. Description: Mixed-use development consisting of 333 condominiums, 48,980 s.f. of retail, 9,800 s.f. office, 6,280 s.f. of restaurant/food court uses Status: City Council approval on 7/10/07. A lawsuit challenged the adequacy of the certified EIR, but the courts upheld the EIR as being adequate. Applicant is processing a Financial Parcel Map. High Tech High School (Interim Facility) Location: Northwest corner of Discovery & San Marcos Blvd. Description: 300 student incubator charter high school in modular buildings for two years. High Tech High School (Permanent Facility) Location: Northwest corner of Discovery & San Marcos Blvd. Description: A two-story high school (530 students) and middle school (330 students). San Marcos Creek (“Creek District”) Specific Plan Location: Generally between Discovery & SR 78 and San Marcos Blvd. & Discovery Description: Mixed-use development consisting of 1,265,000 s.f. of retail, 589,000 s.f. of office and 2,300 dwelling units. Status: Approved by City Council on 7/24/07. Permit applications have been submitted to the regulatory agencies on December 31, 2007 and are being processed. Channel habitat mitigation and monitoring plan has been completed and submitted to the regulatory agencies and are being reviewed. The regulatory agencies are processing the regulatory permits and have requested additional information. Grand Avenue bridge is in the 30% design stage. Description: On January 8, 2008, the City Council established a Task Force to re-evaluate the land uses within that portion of Heart of the City generally bounded by SR-78, Industrial Street, Barham Drive, Discovery Street (and its extension), and San Marcos Creek. The goal of the Task Force is to formulate an amendment that looks at expanding the “downtown” vision of the San Marcos Creek Specific Plan. First meeting of Task Force was held on 3/12/08 with additional meetings on 4/2, 4/30, 5/28, 6/18, 7/23, 8/27 & 9/24. There was a field trip to San Diego on 5/3/08. Two public workshops were held on Saturday, 5/17 and 5/31. The Task Force conducted a walking tour of the project area on 8/13. Next Task Force meeting is 1/21/09.
